I won’t forget Rod’s strength, and his belief in me, as I played my 1st match for Uppingham’s 1st XV. That lad had springs for arms and legs, fearless in the tackle, pushed like a rhino in the scrums and made my job as the prop a hell of a lot easier. He read the game superbly and had extraordinary fitness. Hell of a player.  And then, after the game, a quiet, thoughtful, diminutive chap with a massive presence. He made that team tick, was hugely popular and respected by all. That’s because he was a damn good bloke.  What tragic news to hear of his sudden passing. I send deepest condolences and fondest love to all who grieve for Rod, and hope comfort can be taken in his remembrance. …

I still remember Rod joking on me when I was using the word “sellable” – how can we make this sellable? – But at the end it was “our word”. And it was also our special reality. Rod was my superhero capable of turning dreams into reality. I will miss his smile, enthusiasm, passion, irony, intelligence, …  I DO MISS YOU FRIEND!…

From the moment I met Rod for the first time he has always been an example of high energy, positive thinking and can-do attitue, especially when solving problems. He always had ideas, but also advices for every colleague. And when approaches and ideas were not matching, he always was for an open discussion. He was just good in talking, presenting, explaining concepts and maintaining relationship. His continuous drive and positive energy will be remembered and will inspire many, and we all will miss Rod a lot….

I had a problem with client and a colleague of mine told me ” Ask Rod what to do. He understands clients, but he also understands analysts and the data. He is your man.” And he really was. Sometimes you remain so grateful to people that don’t really play a big role in your life Rod will remain one of those people for me….

I remember the first time I spoke to Rod. I was still an analyst, and bumped into him downstairs on one of our breaks. We were talking about work and about the possibility of me going with a sales person to talk to some clients regarding one of the trackers. I told him how bad I was at selling ANYTHING, and he just seemed so shocked because WHO ON EARTH WOULD NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THAT. He then started giving me tips and how he would approach it within seconds, because for him that was just easy and natural. And right there, I thought to myself “this guy is amazing”. And you know what? I was not wrong at all. As years went by, I had the immense luck of working with him on several projects, and it was always the greatest times. Big professional, always involved 100% on everything, always trying to go beyond limits, full of energy, full of enthusiam, full of life. I abosultely LOVED working with him. He was unique and special human being, one of those that it is rare to find. I will miss not having you around. Be sure that your…

The last time I spoke with Rod he said: “I love working with you because together we solve problems!” That was Rod’s quintessentially spontaneous warmth and kind irony. That was the attitude that made it easy for me to have a difficult conversation with a client or turned a casual call with colleagues into a joyous conversation. I will miss you so very much!…

When I think about Rod, there is always this image coming to my mind. I was very junior, panicking for a presentation at work. Rod called me immediately when I told him I was stressing out, sat back on his home office chair with his cup of coffee, and told me “let’s hear this fantastic piece of work you’ve put together”, and just listened carefully without interrupting. He challenged me, gave me feedbacks in a way that motivated me, boosted my confidence, told me jokes about analysts and sales people, made me laugh and reflect on my areas of improvement. To feel heard and supported in that moment, knowing he had much more important things to do than listening to me, it was everything. I hope to bring Rod’s generous and positive attitude with me, at work and in my life. His warmth and unique energy will be highly missed. …

When I think of Rod I think of energy and fire. His energy was not to be matched. He COULD keep it under control through what he felt were long, boring or useless discussions, but you could always see it in his eyes, it was there, simmering. Never seen him in a customer session without waving his hands and energy out or thrashing a whiteboard. Never heard him say “No, I won’t help you” or “No, it’s impossible”. We didn’t always agree on content or methods – but his impatience and hunger for outcome, his pushing himself, that was and will always be an example for me. Goodbye Rod – you will be missed….

Although I only had a few chances to work with Rod, his passion, energy, engagement, care and team spirit were so inspiring! I can only imagine that these qualities amplified within the circles of his family anad friends, and how dearly he is missed. Sending you lots of light and love for Rod’s journey to heaven. 🖤…

On May 24 I attended an analyst training you delivered in the office. Your day-long presentation was inspiring, full of energy and you managed to get my attention from start to finish. I felt like I got out of the room with so many things learned from you. I’m still shocked about the news. You had a great personality, which will be missed. I will always remember your teachings and you will forever be in my memories just like you were on that day: full of energy, charism, and with a unique sense of humor. Bye, Rod!…

Rod was such an incredible man, always smiling, happy and VERY enthusiastic! I will always fondly remember many fun times with him at IDC Events, especially many boozy Sales Kick Offs and Christmas parties (see picture)! He was the life and soul of the party, always with a smile on his face and would make time for everyone. He truly was one of a kind and an incredibly special human being. I will miss you Rodders x…

Hard to find the words here. Rod was an amazing colleague and co-conspirator over the years. He was a leader and someone we would follow into battle without question. One of the best, most convincing presenters I’ve ever seen, and he could talk me into almost anything. I will miss the collaboration, the warmth, the humour, the generosity, the energy and most of all, his vision. My hope is that messages like these will show his family how well respected and liked Rod was here and how he will continue to inspire us for years. (The pic is a recent event full of CMOs and business leaders hanging onto his every word. We will miss him a lot.)…
