When I think about Rod, there is always this image coming to my mind. I was very junior, panicking for a presentation at work. Rod called me immediately when I told him I was stressing out, sat back on his home office chair with his cup of coffee, and told me “let’s hear this fantastic piece of work you’ve put together”, and just listened carefully without interrupting. He challenged me, gave me feedbacks in a way that motivated me, boosted my confidence, told me jokes about analysts and sales people, made me laugh and reflect on my areas of improvement. To feel heard and supported in that moment, knowing he had much more important things to do than listening to me, it was everything. I hope to bring Rod’s generous and positive attitude with me, at work and in my life. His warmth and unique energy will be highly missed.
