In Loving Memory of

Amer Hasan

Amer Hasan sadly passed away on the 16th July, 2024.   This book provides us all with the opportunity to share our memories.

Amer was an integral part of our Customer Experience team and was a wonderful colleague to many in our Kantar family.  Last month he celebrated 31 years of service at Kantar and he worked across many of the companies that have made up our Group through that time. In particular in our Service Measurement and CX teams he was not only a great colleague but also a friend to many people. Amer was wonderfully collaborative and always approached his work with a positive and calm disposition.

He worked with many of our clients, all of who welcomed his contribution to their businesses, he was at the heart of the Client Satisfaction programme that we run for the WPP network.  He was part of our I&D activitites, where he was a passionate and eloquent ambassador for change, often sharing his considered opinions internally and externally.

In loving memory of Amer Hasan.

I first met Amer on day 1 when I joined Research International as it was back then in 2000.  From day one he was kind, considerate and always ensured I was okay.  We spent many occasions driving the length and breadth of the country together visiting mailing houses for the Royal Mail programme we worked on together for the best part of 10 years.  We sure visited some weird and wonderful places, and they are times I will cherish forever.  We then worked on different things for several years, but thankfully we got the chance to work together again and it has been a pleasure working with Amer for the last few years.  Amer’s dedication to his work and the well-being of his colleagues was nothing short of inspirational.  He will be sorely missed.  Sleep well, my friend….

Amer and I worked together for 2.5 years on the WPP Vantage Programme and it’s so saddening to know that I won’t be able to work with him anymore. Not only was he extremely patient, understanding, knowledgeable and extremely hard-working, I had a laugh working with him too which makes me think how lucky I was to be able to collaborate with him. It was fun getting to know Amer outside of work. I remember in my very early days of starting at WPP bonding with Amer over music, particularly Primal Scream’s Screamadelica which was also a favourite album of his. I realised then that we had more in common than I originally thought. I was then trying to persuade him and Sandeep to join me at a festival that they were playing at! It really won’t be the same without him around and I will always cherish the time I spent with him. Best wishes to the family in these trying times….

I worked with Amer for many years in the London office at Kantar. Like many others, I have a distinct memory of him being one of the key people to greet and welcome me into the team. As I had relocated from Sydney, I really appreciated his warm and friendly approach to help me settle in and introduce me to life in London. Over the years working together we had many lovely chats and I will remember him fondly. He was one of the kindest and most genuine people I’ve ever met. Amer always had a huge impact on the teams he worked with – always there for his teammates to lift them up, lend a listening ear or offer up advice. The Specialist Services team would not have been the same without him. I count myself lucky to have known and worked with him and will aim to continue to spread Amer’s message of love and kindness. You will be missed greatly, Amer….

Amer was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout my time at Kantar – from being so kind and welcoming when I joined the Specialist Services team on my Grad Scheme to being like a long-lost friend when I visited Kantar’s offices in March this year as a client. I have fond memories of working with Amer in the Specialist Services and CX teams and I will always remember his caring, positive and generous nature – something I appreciated so much as a young graduate. Amer was taken too soon, and I can safely say he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him. Thinking of all Amer’s family and friends and sending my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time….

Amer and I worked in the same team for years – he was an absolute pleasure to work with as a colleague, and I will remember him for his incredible kindness, his generosity of spirit and his ongoing search for perfect snippets of knowledge to share with others to help us understand our world better.    To illustrate these points – although Amer and I didn’t work together often, as luck would have it, recently, we had just worked together on a big piece of new business. It was tough, and nebulous, as these things often are, so we leant on eachother to get through. At the start of every call, Amer would smile, ask how I was, and we’d chat about life for a couple of minutes. Such a small thing, but it meant a lot, and set us both up to align and work through what we needed each day. During the day, Amer would often pop into my teams messages to thank me for whatever I’d just sent, or say he really liked the way I’d framed something, or pushed it along. In the evenings, he’d be popping into the store for the brand, always trying…

Although I never got to know Amer very well, he always had a lovely smile and greeted me so kindly whenever I saw him. As others have said, Amer was an incredibly popular member of the Kantar family and had such a positive impact on his colleagues around him. He made many great friendships during his time at Kantar and was so admired by everyone. Rest in peace Amer, sending the deepest condolences to family and friends at this incredibly difficult time….

Amer was a true treasure. A solid, dependable, authentic part of the team, always bringing his calm manner and dry humour to any situation. Whether it was a senior director or a new grad, he would always make time to talk, be approachable and be genuinely interested in what you had to say- I’m so thankful for his friendly nature in making me feel at home in the team. He was such a beacon of CX knowledge and could always be relied upon to offer advice and guidance. His presence in the office was always reassuring and his genuine warmth made all socials richer. I’m honoured to have known him and he’ll be sorely missed by all who did…

I first got to know Amer a couple of years ago when we worked together on a incredibly important project looking at how marketing and brands can better represent minorities. A subject that I learn Amer was deeply passionate about. Despite the project having many challenges, Amer came with enthusiasm, wisdom and passion to every meeting and connection point.  He was always striving to ensure Kantar did the very best for the client. He had a presence in meetings where he didnt have to speak very much, or raise his voice, but was always heard and his words were always considered and impactful. A genuine skill. Since that project whenever I saw Amer in the office or at social events he always stopped for a chat or went out of his way to ask me about my day, work and life. I will miss those moments of genuine compassion and connection. Amer was such a kind and genuine soul. He was loved and respected by everyone at Kantar. He will be incredibly missed. We need more people like Amer in the world! My heart goes out to his family and friends. Gone but never forgotten. …

Amer, you will be sorely missed. You were one of the first project managers I worked with coming in as a grad and you taught me so much. I’ll always remember you. Please rest in eternal peace x…

Amer was one of the first people to greet me as I joined Kantar nearly three years ago. In those early days when I was taking my first steps into a new job and my head was spinning with new faces and new ideas, Amer always made himself available to lend a hand, offer his guidance and wisdom. That never changed. He was never too busy for a question or a chat. Never missed an opportunity to support those around him. Never failed to pass on what new thing he had just learned. More than anything, Amer had a deep well of kindness that never ran dry. I am immensely saddened by his passing but also truly thankful that I had the opportunity to know him….

While it has been many years since I worked directly with Amer I remeber the times well.   My thoughts go to his family….

In my relatively short time at Kantar, I met Amer a few times in person and interacted with him many times and every interaction with Amer left me feeling the same way – That was a very kind and smart man! Amer was one of the kindest, thoughtful and helpful colleagues and I am priviledged to have known him. I pray that his family, friends and colleagues get strength and peace to handle the significant loss of a great human. …

It was an absolute pleasure to have known Amer.  I only worked with him occasionally in Kantar – mainly on the GBTS study – but that didn’t stop us stopping for chats when passing in the corridor / keeping in contact via facebook. His pleasantness was something to behold, and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone.   He will be sorely missed and thoughts are with his family and close friends at this very sad time….

I think I speak for everyone when I say that this is a loss that will stay with us forever. Amer was the purest, kindest soul & as so many others echo here, always put everyone else first before himself. I will always remember his beaming smile greeting you as soon as you entered the office & the warm welcome that he would give anyone and everyone when he met them. I will treasure our memories together & always try to channel his energy in times of need. You will be so very missed Amer, rest easy x…

Amer was the kindest person I have ever met. I have been working with Amer for 6 years and I have enver once heard him complain about anything. He dealt with everything with a smile and was always there to support and never said no to a challenge. He was part of the soul of the cx team and it was indeed a priviledge to have worked but also spend time with him….
