In Loving Memory of

Amer Hasan

Amer Hasan sadly passed away on the 16th July, 2024.   This book provides us all with the opportunity to share our memories.

Amer was an integral part of our Customer Experience team and was a wonderful colleague to many in our Kantar family.  Last month he celebrated 31 years of service at Kantar and he worked across many of the companies that have made up our Group through that time. In particular in our Service Measurement and CX teams he was not only a great colleague but also a friend to many people. Amer was wonderfully collaborative and always approached his work with a positive and calm disposition.

He worked with many of our clients, all of who welcomed his contribution to their businesses, he was at the heart of the Client Satisfaction programme that we run for the WPP network.  He was part of our I&D activitites, where he was a passionate and eloquent ambassador for change, often sharing his considered opinions internally and externally.

In loving memory of Amer Hasan.

I met Amer 30 years ago when he joined Service Measurement; he’d moved across from the Telephone Centre at Putney. We were mates from day one because who wouldn’t love this incredible human being. Putney was a defining education for Amer and it gave him a mission; mainly how to treat people with respect and kindness and he did this in abundance. I am still in shock; can’t quite believe that he has gone but I feel privileged that he was my friend, and a very good one at that. My sincere condolences go to Amer’s family. And to Amer, sleep well my beloved friend. You will be missed very much. S x x x…

Amer and I go back 30+ years to the days of Research International. We’ve spent many hours laughing and getting lost at train stations, or trying to find illusive bus stops across London for the many projects we did for TfL. Amer was always great company and I also had the pleasure of socialising with him outside of work.  I’ll miss his smile and calm nature.  Annie sends her love and was so sad to hear the news. Take care and safe travels my friend xx…

Amer, My dear friend. You are such a wonderful human. You live an incredible life of virtues, gratidues, graces and values. You touch everyone you meet in a powerful and positive way, each one different, each one meaningful. You teach people how to live a selfless, kind and generous life – you make people feel seen – this is your gift. And now we must treasure that gift, I must treasure that gift and pass it forward. There are so many examples of your kindness. A New York City protector, a detoured driver, a dry comic, an awareness raiser, an empath. You’ll be missed, but I know you will always be with us, with me, forever. May you rest peacefully now. Sleep well my friend.  With love,  George…

Our paths crossed several times over the years, but not recently. I remember Amer to be thorough, approachable and good at his job, and was shocked to hear this sad news. My thoughts go out to his family and friends. Still can’t believe it….

As the outpouring of love and affection for Amer has shown he wasn’t just a wonderful colleague, but also a wonderful friend to so many people. His commitment to Kantar has been astonishing over the 31 years he worked for us in many different teams. He was hard working and diligent, always ensuring the clients he worked with were delighted with his service. For me though it is far more what he contributed above and beyond his day job that makes him truly stand out and highlights the type of individual he was. He was passionate about the I&D space which is where he and I had the most contact. I remember him taking me through important work he had done with the WPP Roots network and me sensing both the depth of understanding he had for the area and the passion he had for driving change. He was a true ambassador in this area, unafraid to share his thoughts both internally and externally. The other contribution he made though was in the care he always showed for others. From checking in on people and asking how they were, to gestures like buying water for colleagues on business trips…

I’m so sad to hear this news. I always loved to see Amer when I visited London from the Edinburgh office, he was so welcoming and friendly – always lovely to chat with and so professional and calm at work – one of life’s good guys. …

In the short time I worked with Amer, he was a great support and someone I looked up to. Always there for a chat and a laugh, and willing to help whenever he could… I hope to be half as dedicated and kind. We were lucky to know you, Amer – you will be greatly missed.  Sending love and thoughts to your family. Sinéad xx…

I feel so privileged to have known Amer for 3 and a half years. I joined the team as lead of the ENGAGE programme – our client feedback survey platform – and I had a lot to learn from everyone about how it all works. Everyone was very kind and helpful and it was immediately clear that Amer’s patience and kindness underpinned it all somehow. He was consistently an openly supportive and kind person, a real pillar of the team who was determined to do the right thing, make sure that the work we did would be correct, and never impatient or ready to cut corners. In the past 6-8 months, Amer worked hard to get a full scale move of our programme, from WPP to fully in-house at Kantar, and he just kept on with patience, confidence that everything would work and the type of approach that ‘this will be done and it will be done right’. I have never worried about what we’re going to do or how something will work out with Amer and Phil as a team to rely on. Even when Phil was on paternity leave, that’s where the reliability and love of that duo…

I love the quiet ones. The unassuming. Those who go about their daily business without shouting from the rooftops. Without seeking recognition or reward. They give more than they take. And whilst committed, hard-working, and eager to learn, they somehow manage to find (or rather, create) the time to share their wisdom with others. To help them thrive. Generosity to the fore. When these qualities fuse with a healthy dose of intellect, wit, charm and genuine interest in the wellbeing of others, you’re left with a very rare breed. And that was Amer. A total one-off. The heartbeat of our UK CX client practice. The central cog that allowed so many things to prosper – from client relationships and programme quality to tech partnerships and a truly inclusive culture. Amer was a gem. Authentic, selfless. Superlatives too many to list. I loved his LinkedIn post last year. A rare moment of self-reflection. It read “I was looking at my workday profile and accidentally realized today’s the day: Kantar: Length of Service: 30 year(s), 0 month(s), 0 day(s). The best thing about working at Kantar is definitely the people. Followed by culture, amazing talent, clients, partners, dedication to Diversity, Equity…

I joined the Kantar family around 9 years ago as a graduate trainee – my first proper job after graduating from uni. I joined a team called Specialist Services where Amer and many others worked. Amer was always helpful, friendly and full of smiles. He always made you feel at ease and always had time for you. In his presence, you truly felt like no question was a silly one – often what a graduate trainee was be told, but not always felt. He was diligent at work, often first in last out. He took pride in his work and he enjoyed it. I always knew I was lucky to be in the Specialist Services team – we didn’t just work together, we had great fun too, baking competition, quizzes, bowling…etc. Even when the team disbanded, we all continued to keep in touch. We used to laugh at how silly our team name was. But now that I reflect upon it, it’s not silly at all. It truly was special and Amer definitely was part of what made it special. Rest in peace, Amer. Thank you for everything. You are in my prayers and memories. My heartfelt condolences to…

Amer was a kind and happy person who I was lucky enough to work with for 5 years. Amer was always happy at work and really loved people. He noticed the small things and he was an extremely loyal member of the Kantar team. He loved working with Medallia, going to different conferences and writing about them. We talked about Medallia and also about cars, comparing notes on the Ford Motor Museum in Detroit from his recent North American travels.   I will miss Amer and the time we spent specifically working on the CX team Recognition Pillar. Amer always saw the best in people and he wanted to promote that inside and outside of work. We will make sure we enter all the awards for you Amer and will continue to champion that love and winning spirit in all our future activities in this space. Sending our love and thoughts to Amer’s family. Sarah A xx     …

Amer was simply an incredible human being. I had the pleasure of being part of a team with him for the last few years albeit not as many opportunities as I’d have liked to work directly with one another. I can say without a doubt that Amer is one of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. Always there to support anyone that needed it, to be a sounding board or just there for a chat. We had many good times at work events and discussing broader theoretical challenges within the CX space. Amer always had a strong and well informed understanding, but also a desire to know more and be better. I, and the rest of the team, loved him and he loved us. A real work family. One of the things I have thought of most since his passing is how he never shied away from anything, how he took things in his stride but more than anything how he always acted for the good of others around him. Perhaps to his own detriment at times. He cared about everyone around him more than anything and that’s what made him so loved. It’s something I wish to…

This is very sad news. I met Amer over twenty years ago when I joined the company and worked on and off a couple of projects until we worked together for four years several years ago. He was a fantastic person, so charismatic and nothing was ever a problem. His dedication to working with all sorts of people, including difficult people, helping and supporting to make things work summarises his character – diplomacy personified. I am blessed for having known you. Always calm and kind, you will be greatly missed Amer….

My first memory of Amer was 24 years ago, him rushing into the basement office of Research International, with magazines in his hand looking for posted/delivered dates. He was so thorough that he would be looking through packed boxes to find one posted envelope among hundreds. Amer accompanied a couple of us to Leicester to visit a mailing center which opened doors of how Royal Mail survey operated and his knowledge of the project which was so impressive to see and learn from him. Although I did not work directly with Amer, there were so many incidents where I was able to listen and witness interesting dicussions on TFL projects. Amer was dedicated to his work, so much so that he even completed spot check on interviewers working TFL surveys. He never ever forgot to smile or nod his head each time our paths crossed in MLP offices. Rest in peace Amer, thinking of your family at this difficult time….

While I never worked directly with Amer we spent a lot of time together in the office with a lot of laughter. Amer always bought such a positive attitude and had a positive spin on any situation. His warmth and sense of humour was infectious and I always left time spent together with a smile. I’ll miss you a lot, Amer. Best wishes and condolences to your family and friends….
