My first memory of Amer was 24 years ago, him rushing into the basement office of Research International, with magazines in his hand looking for posted/delivered dates. He was so thorough that he would be looking through packed boxes to find one posted envelope among hundreds. Amer accompanied a couple of us to Leicester to visit a mailing center which opened doors of how Royal Mail survey operated and his knowledge of the project which was so impressive to see and learn from him. Although I did not work directly with Amer, there were so many incidents where I was able to listen and witness interesting dicussions on TFL projects. Amer was dedicated to his work, so much so that he even completed spot check on interviewers working TFL surveys. He never ever forgot to smile or nod his head each time our paths crossed in MLP offices. Rest in peace Amer, thinking of your family at this difficult time.
