John, it was a real pleasure getting to know you over the last 4 years. We had many conversations – some work related but much about life outside the office. I always felt that said a lot about you, that working relationships don’t have to be one dimensional and making personal connections were important in a work environment. I also admired how you set a great example to colleagues on professionalism, work ethic and how to cultivate and maintain good working relationships. From our last conversation I know how much you had planned for your much deserved retirement, and I am so sad that it was so unfairly cut short. My sympathies to your family and close friends.
