John and I worked together for a year and a bit before his retirement.  Due to the pandemic, we sadly never met in person, but John’s warmth instantly came across, even via video conference.  Everyone in the organisation spoke very highly of John when I joined and I always found him to be very knowledgeable and calm. I was very shocked and sad to hear of John’s passing and send my deepest condolences to all his friends and family.
