I was piviliged to have known Patsy as both as a tutor and as a colleague. In both capacities she was incredibly generous with her time and expertise. As a tutor she was always warm, approachable and enthusiastic – framed feedback in a positive way – and saw possibilities and potential in our often very meagre efforts! As a colleague she gave invaluable advice and encouragement and again always seemed to know the right thing to say. Moreover, even though Patsy was such and important scholar in the field, she was always extremely modest about her own contributions. She is a huge loss to academia and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
