Professor Patsy Healey OBE

Patsy hired me as a rookie researcher back in 1982 and took me on a world-wind tour of planning theory and practice as our team examined the nuances of planning intervention in the depths of the West Midlands and Greater Manchester. Paul McNamara and myself dubbed her ‘Hurricane Healey’ to pay tribute to the energy and enthusiasm that she brought to everything she did. Her light will continue to shine in multiple ways but the world will miss her wisdom, kindness and intellectual passion. x
