John was really friendly and welcoming when I joined the bank in 2020 in a Covid online working environment. As a fellow caravanner we had some lovely chats about our caravan adventures and it is really sad I never got to meet John in person. Sending sincere condolences to all his family….

John, it was at great shock and dismay that I came into the news that you had sadly passed.  Your smile and personality along with your professionalism will be something that I will be forever greatful to have witnessed.  Thank you for all that you taught me over a short period of time.  Thinking of you and your loved ones.   …

I am so sad to hear that John has passed away.  He was a true gentleman who was always extremely kind and courteous in every interaction I had with him over the last 8 years. Always making time to help his colleagues, especially those of us who didn’t work directly with him day to day, John would openly share his knowledge and experience. Sending my thoughts and sincere condolences to his family….

I simply don’t have the words to convey both the shock at John’s passing and offer those closest to him the smallest degree of consolation.  Any words I write would not be enough.  Today, so many people chose to criticise and put people down.  But its people like John we should strive to be more like.  People like John  – a gentleman.  People like John  – who was intelligent, kind and considerate.  People like John  – who tried to see the best in people.  My deepest sympathies to all his family and friends.  David…

John was a genuine and kind individual. When I joined the bank, he took me under his wing and mentored me throughout my time at GWS. He always had time for a chat no matter how busy he was. He will be dearly missed it’s ashame that he couldn’t enjoy his retirement after a long career. It’s still shocking news to me that he is no longer with us, only feels like yesterday when we spoke about what adventures he had planned. My condolences to John’s family during this difficult time….

Whilst I only knew John for a short period of time whilst working at BBB, I was always impressed by his professionalism and his gentlemanly manner. John had a calming prescence which always helped to find a way through difficult challenges and those who worked alongside him will have benefited greatly from his knowledge and experience. It was a pleasure to work alongside John and my thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends at this very difficult time.     …
