Jon Baker

To Jo, Grace, and Rosie,

Its been such a pleasure working with Jon over the past 25 years or so. From my first day at Amersham, when I learned the meaning of imposter syndrome, I remember thinking, “Do they want me to be like this guy?” after listening to him take customer calls on my first day in our tech support team. I didn’t need to worry; he was a great role model and colleague, and I’ve been privileged to call him a friend ever since. I feel very fortunate to have had Jon working with me all these years and one of the benefits of a tricky customer question was that I got to catch up with Jon and have a giggle about something before getting on with the task at hand. Most recently it was great to see Jon being recognised for his work with a trip to the Belgian Grand Prix, something I know he was “cockahoop” about. He will be sorely missed and my deepest condolences to you all.
