To Jo, Grace and Rosie, Rarely has anyone whom I’ve met only a few times made such an impression as Jon did. His technical acumen was unmatched, and we all relied upon him for all the day-to-day challenges we face in the field. On a personal side, we began to exchange clever emails designed to make each other smile, and when we caught up in person we laughed heartily.  Reading comments from those who knew him well confirms what a humble, decent, caring man that Jon was. I wish all of you peace as time passes and that you are comforted by your memories of Jon. Know that he had an outsized impact on his colleagues–even on those who barely knew him–and that he will be sorely missed by all of us. With Condolences, Greg Krueger…

To Jo, Grace and Rosie, Jon was truly one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. He always wore a warm smile, nothing was ever too much trouble, and he was a brilliant person to work with—thoughtful, generous, and full of insight. It was a privilege to call him a friend for so many years. I’m finding it incredibly hard to imagine life without him, so I can only begin to understand how deeply this loss must be affecting the three of you. There are no words that can ease the pain, but I hope you’ll be gentle with yourselves and find comfort in the memories you shared together. Sending you and your family my heartfelt sympathy and all my love at this very sad time. Penny…

Professionally I came to Jon with many problems and he not only solved them, but always did so quickly and effictivly. Personally, Jon became a freind over the Formula 1 weekend we spent together as pat of the ecolab trip. I was not a big fan at the time, but Jon’s enthusiasm was infectious and he was he go to person whenever anyone had a question about the race. Since that weekend, and largely thanks to Jon’s kindness and passion, I now watch F1 every week, each time thinking a little of the man who made sure I felt welcome and included in a sport I knew nothing about. It was a wonderful weekend and I’m glad I got the chance to know him. He is sorely missed. …

We have lost a great colleague. Jon was always the first to offer help and professional advice, and his extensive industry experience made him someone who could always be trusted. We are truly grateful for how he went out of his way to address clients’ questions over the past few years and helped build trust with them. It was such a wonderful experience, and he was an extraordinary person….

I have only worked with Jon for the last 18 months remotely from the USA. My only contact with Jon was remotely via Teams and email. I wish I could say more, but I can only repeat what has already been said about Jon. He was always kind, warm and willing to help in any way.  I looked forward to talking with him. Not for work reasons, but for the personal connection reasons. Even if we only discussed work, I always left the call feeling good, happy and fulfilled. In his own way, he was living angel.  Now he has passed to being with the angels. Jon has touched so many souls. I know he has made each one a better person. I am so sorry for your loss. My sincere deepest condolences.    …
