Shaleen, you were one of a kind. So warm, welcoming and gentle.

When I first joined Diabetes UK, new to the world of community engagement and volunteering, Shaleen made me feel so comfortable and supported. I remember when we met in person for the first time and laughed at how it didn’t feel like a first meeting at all. Her genuineness and kindness made everyone feel comfortable and valued.

We will miss Shaleen’s enthusiasm, gentleness, and the kindness that she brought to the team. She had such passion for her work and such care for the communities she supported. Although the expert, Shaleen was always open to listening and sharing. She was a great mentor and gave her time generously to anyone who needed it.

We will miiss you Shaleen, and will continue to work in the way you did, with care, passion and heart.
