I had the pleasure of playing golf with Ian in the summer and thoroughly enjoyed his company and his high standard of play. He had endless stories and knew so much about the goings on at Turnberry. I was on the first tee on the Friday morning of the prize giving dinner as he went down the 19th. He knocked one down the middle with steely determination. I then enjoyed talking to him at the dinner. I didn’t know Ian well but was touched by his warmth and friendlieness. A true gentleman. My heartfelt condolences to you all.
