I am so sorry to hear this terrible news. Quite apart from our scientific collaborations, I really liked Simon and always looked forward to meeting him. He was motivated not only by curiosity about the natural world, but also to make practical contributions to solving problems for the good of society, especially in the developing world. He was always great company and I will miss him a lot.
