My contact with Kome was as the Department’s PPI co-ordinator. I was always very impressed by all of the PPI work that Kome did. I minuted one of the meetings that she held with women who had lots of UTIs and I was struck over and again by how warm she was in dealing with people, how she encouraged them and made their contribution feel valuable. Kome really did have a very special gift for building people up.
She also recruited her mum as a PPI volunteer with us and I want to extend my heartfelt sympathy to her and Ivie (who I now work with) and the whole family at this terrible time. Kome was a very special human being and she will be sadly missed by the many many people whose lives she touched.
