I was deeply saddened to hear that George Walker had passed, and I would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family. Like so many others, my George Walker experience was limited to his speaking engagements and lectures. One particular memory stands out amidst the always thoughtful, engaging, and well-delivered presentations. The setting was a rather unremarkable secondary classroom, packed to standing room only capacity, to hear George offer his whitepaper on “what it was to be international”. His delivery was typically precise, intellectual, and measured, but the subsequent conversation was animated and wide-ranging. The session, scheduled for one hour, drifted through lunch and threatened to detain most of those in the crowded classroom from the remainder of the conference. George loved every minute.
