I’ve put off sending my condolences to the Walker family because i really wanted to find just the right words.  Of course, the “right words” dont exist to honor the life and work of George.  But if they did exist, it would be someone like George who would discover them.  Someone who embodied graciousnesses, compassion, and wisdom.  Someone, like George, who always seemed to say the right thing at the appropriate time, and who was deeply committed to the sharing of knowledge and understanding of students of all ages.  Unfortunately, there aren’t very many people like George and so we both grieve his passing and rejoice in the fact that we were able to benefit from his life and work.
