Meeting Kome for the first time was so memorable because we really clicked. We had both been at the same college in Cambridge and then both moved into the same college, and the Primary Health Care department in Oxford, but our first meeting was at a Trinity dinner as I began my PhD and Kome was finishing hers. From then on, Oxford felt a lot more welcoming as Kome was always so genuinely and truely kind. It was so inspiring to meet someone with such a fierce belief in her research, yet so gentle and compassionate in her everyday life – she will be greatly missed.
