Bryan Derek Castle

I knew Bryan through his service as a member of the Council of Partners, the partnership that leads the conservation of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the nationally protected landscape in which Marlborough lies.  Bryan represented the communities and parishes of the area, and Marlborough Town Council in particular.  He was conscientious in his attendance at meetings and events and always had something worthwhile to say.  His affable charm was always apparent (something I as a staff member greatly appreciated) and it was a pleasure to have him among us.  One of the most committed and advernturous of our members, he was one of the very few to venture to the annual national conference of AONBs, helping to represent Marlborough and its lovely landscapes on the national stage.  I am very sorry to hear of his death and offer condolences to his family and friends on behalf of everyone involved in the AONB Partnership.  May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
