We were very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr Nigel Pickering. He was a super doctor & a lovely man – always smiling & cheerful. My most abiding memory of him, is when he calmly & reassuringly sat opposite me in the ambulance, as I was rushed from Malmesbury Cottage Hospital in September 1990, to Swindon Hospital, for an emergency Caesarean Section. Were it not for the quick diagnosis & prompt action from Dr Pickering & midwife Jane, the outcome of Ross’ birth may well have been so different. Fortunately, all turned out well, & Ross – now a Captain for a Commercial Airline – looks forward to his 31st birthday later this year.
