I first met Kome in-person at the PHC departmental Christmas party in December 2022. It was so nice to chat with her and learn about her Oxbridge background and how we had similar personal experiences, both being of Nigerian heritage, and it was great sharing our experiences of university life. I was in awe and really encouraged by what a positive person she was, and I could see how kind and supportive she was to everyone she met. Her warm and kind qualities also shone through at the departmental conference in March 2023. That year she told me of the most romantic story of the afternoon she was proposed to during afternoon tea at Blenheim Palace, and I was so in awe and overjoyed for her. I can’t believe that she is no longer here with us; such a wonderful person, friend and colleague to so many of us.
