Some moments are never easy, and this is certainly one of them.

In such a short time at Betfair, where I had the chance to work on the same team as Marco, I realized how kind he was, always open to helping, and how he conveyed such a good feeling, even to us, who are on the other side of the ocean. I remember the training weeks with him, where he was always very patient with us.

Marco also helped me to improve my Italian, and every time I spoke with him, I practiced a little more. Since his departure, it has become more difficult for me to speak this new language. In one of the last messages we exchanged on Slack, we agreed to speak only in Italian when he came to Brazil with the team. But, for some reason, God had other plans for him by His side.

I want to offer my condolences to Marco’s family and close friends and say that I am sure he will always be remembered for his smile and joy. I am happy to have known him and to have shared a little more of my work daily life with him. I hope his joy and kindness will always be remembered – and I’m sure it will be!

Addio, amico! A un giorno, forse!
