Around 2016 I was posted to a prisoner handling unit at Chesterfield , which is where I first met Steve. He helped me to find my feet and always had time for a chat and a laugh, even on the more stressful shifts. Wind forward several years and I had a nother posting to custody and again resumed my daily interaction with Steve, again he was a joy to work with. His unit were hugely overworked and often late off, but he was always polite and helpful and could raise a smile. On a personal note , he was gentle and kind when I lost my wife last year and it saddens me deeply that we have lost him, my thoughts are with you all x
