Steve has shown me incredible generosity and kindness over the years, like he clearly did for so many.  He gave me my first job – a couple of summers spent at Computappoint as part of the famous sons and daughters club. He even took on my best friend, and later my Sister too and off we all went into the world now with something decent to write on our CVs.  Later in life, Steve offered me his Fitzrovia flat for a couple of months while I was house-hunting. Of course he didn’t let me pay any rent. While I was there, I found and put an offer on a London flat of my own. So I guess he helped me find my first home too.  Around this time, I got to see the other side of the sons and daughters club too, spending lots of time chatting with Steve about candidates and trying to get them jobs at Publicis. He really just wanted to help people and always saw the best in everyone. He was truly a special man, a very good friend to my Dad, and I will always think of him in very the highest regard –…

I can’t quite remember when I first met Steve, it must’ve been over 30 years ago now. He always had time for a chat and often just called to see how things were going. I will never forget when I’d just received a CV from another agency I was also working with when Steve rang up and told me that that CV was worth an interview. He was right, I got a great recruit, thanks from my manager for a good recruit and all Steve got was my sincere thanks for selflessly recommending a competitor’s candidate. Many years later he found me a contract when, frankly I really needed it, he was always there to help. But that was the way Steve worked, he was there for the long game and he is still gone too soon. He is irreplacable in so many people’s lives, but he leaves a glowing example of how to live a life. We’ll miss you, Steve, thank you….

Steve was one of the kind. I remember getting my first contract job with Steve in the late 80’s and almost all my jobs thereafter came through Steve and his team. He always had time to have a chin wag on the phone. An amazing person with a positive outlook and who will be sadly missed and never forgotten.   Dom…

I could think of a hundred words to describe what a wonderful guy Steve was but I’d like to best remember him by something he always used to say when he rang me about a potential candidate.  Great candidate, comes highly recommended.  Well Steve, that was you fella. Best of the best.  Love Graham & family ❤️👊…

Steve has been so kind to me for over half my life.  Helping me get through life since I was at university and sharing so much helpful advice throughout. I wish I could continue to have the benefit of his advice and friendship, my condolences go out to his family who must also miss his good humour and charm….

Stephen and Anne

Anne and my thoughts go out to Jackie and Spencer as well as Steve’s family for their immeasurable loss.      It is quite hard, if not impossible, to simply sum up one’s immutable memory of Steve and to do him justice.   Steve was the nicest and most generous person and friend I have known, someone you would always want to catch up with. And as we all know had a perfect sense of humour, a joy to be with!   Steve was prodigious and enthusiastic in connecting people and not for his own benefit, he enjoyed helping people.   We miss him, and will never forget him….

Dear Steve, I had the great privilege of meeting you through my ex Senior Manager Barrie, when I was made redundant in 2018. From that time onwards you and Kamlesh were so generous in offering me advice and assistance to get me back into employment.  You are a true people person, showing such genuine caring empathy, compassion and a superb sense of humour. So it wasn’t hard to bond with you in such a short period of time and to include you in my close circle of friends. I was so shocked to hear the sad news of your sudden passing, as we were only talking a short time before about meeting up post covid. You will be greatly missed, but I truly believe that your caring soul will now be reaping the benefits of your altruistic nature. Errol…

Please accept my sincere condolences.  Steve was the perfect gentleman who was selfless, caring and the go to guy for ideas or networking though his many contacts.  He could always think laterally and get back to you during good times or bad. Steve will be missed but never forgotten.  …

I met Steve back in the early 90’s. A true true gentleman. He helped me so much with my career in the early days.  Since then we’d have random phone calls over the years when we’d catch up and share a joke. My sincere condolences to your family and friends. It was an honor to know you Steve, RIP my friend….

Steve will be sadly missed.  He was always thoroughly ethical in a world where over hyoe was common.  I trusted him implicitly and it was always good to help each other for many years after he first placed me at Admiral in 1994.  My thoughts are with his family and colleagues; he will not be forgotten….

Dear Jackie, Spencer, and Steve’s family, My sincere condolences to you all on Steve’s sudden, and too soon passing. I did attend his service online on March 18th and am only successful at posting here now. Steve was a true gentleman, communicator and networker and I had the pleasure of meeting Steve in the early 90’s and knowing him since then! While I moved to Canada in the late 90’s, we stayed in contact and had spoke several times last year and earlier this year while in London and home. He was a good friend to me and always wanting and willing to help with any issue, concern or opportunity, even if neither he nor Computappoint was the benefactor. His was the satisfaction of helping! I wish you all much strength and comfort. Thank you Steve for all of your help over the years, and friendship throughout! You are missed. Rest easy my friend x…

It was a real pleasure to have known you Steve. For the best part of my working life, we were always crossing paths, either at your famous Computapoint do’s or just just catching up to see how things were. I will miss your perspective on things, the industry you contributed so much too, your helping ways & sound counsel. You’ll be missed by many for different reasons, but for me, it will be because you always cared about people. until our paths cross again.    …
