In Memory of

David Parr

It is with sadness and regret that we heard of the passing of David Parr (Dave).

During his 16-year career with the British Safety Council, Dave came to be regarded as a key member of the BSC family and holds a special place in many of our hearts.

Death has taken away a genuinely warm individual, a loving husband and father, and has deprived so many others, including us all, of a good colleague and a friend. While we mourn the loss of a dearest colleague and a friend, we pay tribute here and celebrate his life and his career — a career committed to the cause of health, safety, and wellbeing of workers around the world. We will cherish his many contributions and hold his memory dear.

Dave will live on in our memories forever!!!

Dont know where to begin…this still feels unreal. Dave was such an integral part of our day to day activities, I have had the pleasure of working closely with him on certain areas at work. Always found him approachable, helpful and patient with profound indepth knowledge. You will be missed deeply, Dave.  Wishing your family courage and peace during this time of mourning.   Rest in peace, Dave Regards always Anindita…

Dave was an amazing work colleague and friend.  But how he talked about the love for his family, his children and grandchildren, is something I will never forget. Kind, considerate, a thoroughly good man. I will miss the texts during Liverppool games … and also after them as we tried to put the world to rights. My thoughts are with Dave’s family and everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him. Dave – you will never ever be forgotton … RIP … and really … YNWA !      …

I don’t know where to start, as I am still in shock with the sad news of Dave passing away. Dave has not just been a work colleague but a dear friend to me, having known him from the time he started at the BSC its very hard for me to put all my words into this. Dave was kind, considerate , compassionate  man with  a great sense of humour and you always knew when you spoke to him he would put a smile to your face.  He saw me as a mini version of Salah  ( was in the office with a beard one day and Dave looked at me for a minute and said” you know you look like Salah” ). Since then  he would send me pictures of Salah and I would have great banter with Dave every  time we spoke. Liverpool FC called me asking about us auditing them and remember putting the phone down and ringing Dave straight away to let him know. His first words were “ there is no way anyone else is going to do this but me, they better not upset me and get me on it !”.  I wont…

With a heavy heart I send my sincere condolences to Dave’s family.  Dave was always there to offer help and support, he was rightfully truly respected by all.  I’ll miss our chats about the weekend results and our love for LFC.  My thoughts are with your family, so sorry for your loss xx…

I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of Dave’s passing. He was a great colleague and friend and i will really miss him. Although i have never met any of Dave’s family, i feel like i know all of them. If he wasnt talking about Liverpool football club, or his dislike of the tories :-), he was talking about his family, particularly his grandchildren. I’m im pretty sure that being ‘Pops’ was his most absolutely favourite thing.  Dave you will be greatly missed and I shall think of you whenever I hear the Jam. YNWA  Jules x…

so sorry to hear the terribly sad news about an absolute top man, long time colleague and most importantly a very good friend. In all the time have known Dave he has never been anything but kind, considerate and hepful and it was always a joy to be in his company. I shall miss our long chats putting the world to rights about many things, mainly our joint love of football and of course grandchildren. Dave will be sadly missed and will leave a lasting impression on anyone who met him, RIP, YNWA         …

Where to start to sum up such an incredible contribution?  In the 17 years we have worked together your determination to make things better for people in workplaces has been unending and inspirational.  After experiencing first hand the tragedy of a lack of control measures, Dave, you fought for changes in Government policy, influenced decision makers in boardrooms and put your arm around the people tasked with making a difference.  All with great humour, humility and loyalty to your beliefs. You taught me so much, and when the pandemic hit, yours was the voice of direction and reason that stood out, you made it all simple by simply putting people at the heart of every decision. Your family was everything to you, especially your 4 little angels who adored their “pops” and your wonderful wife.  Thank you for your friendship, support, all of the laughter and for shaping my thinking over the years to help me be a better version of myself. May you rest in peace and may we do your memory and cause justice. Love Jig                …
