Very sorry to hear that Richard has passed away. Hardly surprising, I experienced Richard as a bright researcher, keen to help other people develop and a true homo academicus. For a Continental European like myself, he also represented the good and noble sides of being British: open to the world, aware of ones heritage, and not afraid to speak his opinion. The academic discourse has lost an important voice, the academic community a dear member. Hope to see you one day on the other side…
