Richard Butterwick
I had the privilege of working closely with Richard for nine years at Waltham. During that time, I saw the immense respect he earned from peers across the animal nutrition community, especially for his passion in supporting those at the early stages of their animal nutrition careers. Richard was a Martian through and through – his dedication to Mars and its values was evident in everything he did.
He leaves behind an incredible legacy, not only through his technical knowledge, but also through his influence and support of so many people, both within and outside of Mars, myself included.
As my line manager for five years, Richard’s mentorship and candidness were invaluable. His easy-going style made him approachable and a good laugh. He was always willing to share his insights and perspectives, balancing his advice with genuine listening and a lack of judgement. I always felt supported and trusted, knowing he had my back through the challenges we faced. My time at Mars and Waltham has been shaped by Richard, and for that, I cannot thank him enough.
My thoughts go to his family at this time – it was clear how much he loved and cherished you all. xxx
