Robert Allison

Robert was a man of great integrity. He was down to earth, straight talking, eminently witty and meticulous in everything he did.

Above all he was a devoted family man.

When it came to sport and hobbies, Robert was in a field of his own, often quite literally when bird watching. As a ‘twitcher’, Robert would regale everyone on Monday mornings with details about the latest birds he and Christine had spotted at the weekend, talking about their nesting habits and casually mentioning their Latin names! It was his infectious enthusiasm for bird watching, dancing, running, fishing and all his other interests which helped make him the knowledgeable, engaging and extremely likeable character that he was.

Golf was his latest interest. After just one golf lesson and in true Robert Allison style, he bought a set of irons. Not many weeks later, as he struck ball after ball straight down the middle at the range, I had to remind myself that he was doing this after just four lessons. Only Robert could have done that!

Robert was a good friend who made me laugh. A lot. I will dearly miss his sense of fun, the laughs and all the banter.
