Dominique Davies
There are many words that come to mind when I think of our lovely Dom but the one that stands out to me, above the rest, is ‘SPARKLE’. To me this epitomises Dom. You only had to spend a moment in her company to feel the sparkly loveliness shining out of her like sunbeams. Her colourful, beautiful dresses and jewellery adding to the effect. Always immaculate, always glittery, always beautiful.
She had the kindest heart of anyone I have ever met and a presence that lifted your soul. You just wanted to be around her as you knew you were either going to be wowed by something she was teaching, in awe of her beautiful and moving Wednesday words or in stitches from one of her witty comments and tales. She would make me laugh until I cried. Oh we did have a giggle!! Dom’s friendship was a blessing to me and no matter what was happening she always knew what to do or say. She would often say, “There’s nothing we can’t fix our Steph” and she was always right.
Dom’s gift for teaching was out of this world and on a scale I had never seen before or expect to again. She was so talented, so caring and above all so dedicated. She inspired children to be the best version of themselves and they achieved this by learning from the best. My children and family adored Dom. I am so glad they were lucky enough to have her as a teacher and guide. She will live on in all our hearts forever.
During lockdown her Aiden Turner cardboard cut outs, infamous sideways videos and fun packed Zoom calls kept us all going and lifted our spirits. Mrs Tildsley and I would always look forward to the next instalments and her antics would be shared over a cuppa at breaktime.
She was a real-life guardian angel who bought so much joy to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She used to call the Beech Class TA’s and volunteers ‘Dom’s Angels’ but we all knew who the real angel was. She’d tell us we were ‘a light in her life’ but again we knew who the real light was.
Dom, you are loved and missed beyond measure. I am so glad I got to share part of your journey, there will never be anyone quite like you.
Until we meet again my friend. Love always and God bless.
Steph xxx
