I had the pleasure of knowing Kome both through our time as fellow DPhil students and also as team mates in the Summertown Ladies Netball club. I will always remember Kome for her smile. Wherever and whenever we saw each other, her beaming smile was always there.  Whether it was discussing our research trials or nattering at the end of the court as GK and GS at netball training, time spent with Kome always put me in a better mood or left me with a calmer state of mind, or just with a smile myself reflecting on a kind word or funny comment. She was kind and fun and had all the best qualities of a human. She was such a super star and so accomplished but always so humble that you wouldn’t know it. She will be sorely missed by all of us who had the privilege to know her. Xx
