I never actually worked with Darren but sat very near him and his team when we first moved to Holborn. He was always bouncing with infectious cheerfulness and enthusiasm, greeting me each day with a smile and a loud ‘Hello colleague, how are we’ and that continued over all the subsequent years whenever our paths crossed. Darren was a truly lovely and genuine person, his loss is huge for Sainsbury’s, but that loss must be unfathomable for his dear family, my sincerest condolences to you all.
