I only met Alan in person about twice, but worked with him from a distance for many years. He was one of the most supportive, helpful, entertaining, kind and thoughtful colleagues and always brought a smile to my face. I marvelled at his impressive runs as he slogged over the hills of Scotland (which he downplayed – those are some mean hills!) and shall miss his insight into life in general.

I was so sad to hear of Alan’s passing and want to share my deepest condolences for the loss of such a wonderful person. Alan is irreplaceable and will be remembered fondly by many.
