Liam Oliver
On behalf of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire Local Medical Committees I want to express our great sorrow to learn about Liam’s death.
I have been working with Liam quite closely on projects of patient safety. My first impression when meeting him some time ago was a man who was articulate, capable and on top of his brief. Having had a number of meetings with him since then, I found Liam to be kind, respectful, positive, approachable, responsive, and highly competent. He would listen to the feedback I was giving (which would sometimes be quite robust!), processes it and follow-up in a manner that engendered true collaboration. He was a very likable fellow – someone you knew you could work with and trust.
Other members of my team and LMC representatives have said his passing “leaves a hole”, that “he was a leader”, a “trusted ally” and “very good at his job”. They all expressed how shocked and sad they were to receive the news.
I very much hope your team and his family have the emotional support they need to work through this unexpected loss. Please share our sorrow and condolences. With deepest sympathy.
