Very fond memories of Bernard, both in his recent role at WBS and WMS over the past several years, and in his many previous roles in Public Health, System Leadership and Healthcare Leadership. Bernard was such a great combination of generous and kind, waspish and demanding, as well as curious and clever, and above all, entirely committed to improving outcomes for populations, saving lives and working hard to help colleagues progress in their careers. And you had to watch him with the wine-list if you were going dibs on the restaurant bill! Bernard’s beneficial mark and effect on the world has been profound, I know I’ll miss him, and he’ll remain in my mind as we forge onwards.
