I had the great fortune to work with Yuzhi and with her mentor Professor Alan Hawkes at Swansea University. Yuzhi had a lovely personality and such a humble manner – but equally – a ‘world class’ talent and intellect. She had such a lovely nature and the ability to bring out the best in people she worked with. I was geniunely grateful for the times I got to work with her and amazed at her abilities as an academic. It was truly humbling to be in her company, her positivity was unmatched by anyone I have ever worked with and her smile could ‘light up’ a room. She was also an amazing mentor and someone who could nurture the talents of others around her and develop her students with an amazing level of skill. Requiescat en pace Yuzhi. You will be forever in our hearts.
