We both had the privilege of knowing and working with Stuart for many years, and we feel his loss personally as well as professionally. Alongside his kind heart and wonderful sense of humour, Stuart brought deep knowledge, thoughtfulness and fresh perspectives to everything he did, driven by his commitment to making aviation safer. He earned the respect and affection of colleagues across the CAA and around the world. Stuart made teams stronger and his influence will stay with us for many years to come. Our thoughts are with Stuart’s wife and family. We hope they can find some comfort in knowing how widely he was admired, how greatly he was valued, and how fondly he will be remembered. May he rest in peace.
