I worked with Richard on and off over several years.  He was always happy to have a call, excelled at putting people at ease, and was willing to help with whatever problem we were dealing with.  However, I was also struck about how interested he was in everything and eager to discuss, develop ideas and challenge when needed.  I will miss working and chatting with him and I am grateful for the lessons I learnt from him.  My condolences to his friends and family.
