His devotion and dedication to his wife of 73 years, The Queen, is inspiring. His fondness for his adopted country, the United Kingdom, is appreciated. His inquisitive mind towards subjects such as nature, science, sport and theology certainly kept him young in body, mind and spirit. His dry wit and humour was rather mischevious. His passion for young people have given thousands of them new skills, confidence and a brighter outlook on life via through the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme as well as saving school playing fields. He achieved all this despite a fractured upbringing. You see, it’s not so much about how your story starts, but how your story ends. My condolences and prayers go out to his family, particularly the Queen. He will be sorely missed.
