My dear friend Makoto we were never close friends, but we were good friends.  Our friendship began on holding conversations about food well Mexican food that he enjoyed while his years in San Diego and could not believe there were no “real Mexican restaurants in York”.  I can’t believe it either!  We talked about Masauru and Minori and how proud he was about them and their achievements at school and the excitement about their future, perhaps as uni students.  And in general, about nothing and everything, we also talked about diets… can you believe it?   Makoto my dear friend you will be missed, and it was a joy to have met you.  I hope we meet again.  To his lovely wife, Miyako, and children, Masauru and Minori I just want to extend my love and support in these difficult moments.   Love Maria
