Steve was my Supervisor on CIU and I always remember my first day on his team. It was an early shift and I was sat at my desk when Steve exploded with colourful language after slamming the phone down. I was initially shocked, but very quickly (within a few hours of the shift) learnt that this was Steve and it was normal. There was always laughter in the room and he looked after his staff. He was a fountain of knowledge and always made himself available for support and advice.

Upon hearing the news of Steve’s sudden passing I was shocked and saddened. I only saw him in passing a few months ago and he joked that his weight loss was due to him giving up his biscuit habit.

RIP Steve. You were one of the good ones and will be missed.
