I remember to this day my ST1 introductory tutorial on breast pathology run by Betania – she was so welcoming and friendly. It was always lovely reviewing slides together in the calm oasis of her office, with her family photos smiling down on us, and gently chatting between cases. It was such an honour to later work alongside her as a fellow consultant histopathologist, and I was sorry beyond words to learn of her illness and passing. My heartfelt condolences to her family and all those many other people, patients and colleagues included, whose lives she touched.
