Patricia Mary Whiteman 1944-2021

Biology in B2 with Mrs Whiteman is, hands down, one of my favourite  memories from school.

I have so many stories I could share – her considered advice on which GCSE’s to choose, the catchphrase ‘Whiteman’s Talking!!’, or the time she let us get those goddam white rats out of their cage…

But the real highlight was when she got in touch last November to congratulate me on some exciting career news. To take the time to call, seven years after she last saw me at school, is testimony to how much she genuinely cared about her students. I only wish I’d kept in touch more.

She would probably say it was a pleasure to teach all of us down the years, but quite honestly the pleasure was all ours.

A true QEGS legend. RIP.
