I met David when i did my training at HO in 2003.  He and Steph were a fantastic team, each playing to their own strengths, and David delivered his side of the training with wit and a rye sense of humour.  He phoned all the franchisees in those days every year to find out how we were getting on and during those phone calls i really felt he cared about me and what happened to me – it wasn’t all about the business.  My daughter became a franchisee a few years later and she got herself in a bit of a pickle with her loan and repaying the outgoing franchisee. she rang david and he lent her the money to pay off the franchisee – negotiating a reduction for cash with him too (so David!).  The word legend is bandied about a lot these days but David really was a legend.  When you think about all the people, franchisees, parents, children who have benefited over the years – he touch so many people’s lives and I feel honoured to have known him.  A true Stagecoach Star.
