David Arthur Williams
I’ve known David for over twenty years, some as my next-door neighbour but all of them as a very good friend. He was quite simply one of the finest people I’ve ever met. He possessed the qualities that make a great human being; he was honest, kind, generous, loyal and forgiving and had complete integrity.
David was a fighter and a champion for others, especially for those who may not be as able in life’s battles. He had fought and won plenty of his own battles and his no-nonsense grit, coupled with a likeable nature and natural flair made him an exceptional leader. This is testified by his many years heading up major industrial companies, being a leading member of a renowned City Institution and respected and honoured by his professional peers.
I will always remember his cheeky and sometimes utterly non-PC sense of humour (but always tongue in cheek as he was truly without prejudice) and I have scores if not hundreds of jokes he’d emailed to me. He loved his family dearly and wanted above everything them to be happy and secure and I know he was immensely proud of his children.
David will be sorely missed by many, myself especially. I am privileged to have been his friend.
