2009

On the 1st August 2009 I became Mrs Mansell, even though it rained on our day it was still special surrounded by family and friends. I’m not sure what Adrian was more nervous about, the wedding itself or the first dance…To save us all from Adrians lack of co-ordination, we had secret dance lessons for our first dance. I can still remember everyone cheering when we broke out into a routine. However, you could still see him awkwardly counting steps, but he gave it a go.

It was such a memorable day for many reasons. The confetti that found its way into the blowers of our car helped as a constant reminder of the day much to Adrians annoyance for months after.

We planned to go on honeymoon later in the year, but Adrian surprised me on our wedding day, after winding me up for weeks that our minimoon was in the caravan. He had actually booked to go to Cyprus the next day…

My cases had been packed for me and an extra sparkly surprise had found its way into Adrians hand luggage, curtesy of my sisters. It’s an ongoing joke that I always made him pack spare clothes in his hand luggage just in case our bags get lost, which I thought was sensible. But every time he’d get searched and have to pull out his pants at the airport. So, they planted a sparkly thong in his hand luggage, and of course he got searched.
