It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of our dear friend, brother, and former Senior Prefect of Amuwo Grammar School, Agboju, Amuwo, Lagos, Adedoyin David Onagoruwa.

As our Senior Prefect, Doyin stood out as an exceptional leader whose intelligence, brilliance, confidence, and maturity inspired many of us. Even as young students, he demonstrated uncommon wisdom, discipline, courage, and a clear sense of purpose. He was not only academically gifted but also smart, hardworking, humble, respectful, and approachable. His character commanded admiration, while his leadership earned him the respect of both students and teachers.

Thirty-five years after leaving secondary school, Doyin continued to distinguish himself. His achievements, influence, and personal growth showed remarkable capacity and excellence, setting a standard that many of us admired. He remained a shining example of what dedication, integrity, and perseverance can accomplish. Through his life and accomplishments, he consistently demonstrated qualities that made him a source of pride to his family, friends, classmates, and the entire Amuwo Grammar School community.

Though his departure leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, we take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. His life reminds us that true greatness is measured not only by personal success but by the positive impact one makes on others. Doyin’s memory will continue to inspire us to strive for excellence, lead with integrity, and serve humanity with humility.
