Dear Steve,

I’ll always be grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you at Buxton Police Station – both of us as Sergeants around 2007-8 – a professional relationship that developed into friendship and a mutual respect for each other (notwithstanding your nickname for me ‘Pope on a Rope’). You were caring, compassionate, and kept the tea fund afloat with contributions from your swear box. You looked after your team and in return were well-respected. You’ve had a positive impact on so many officers – new and old alike – and you’re sorely missed.
