I am deeply saddened by the loss of my mentor and colleague, Dr. Prosper Chaki.
I met Propser in 2019 at the launch of the African Center of Excellence in Biotechnologies for the Control of Vector-Borne Diseases in Burkina Faso.
He was a visionary leader whose dedication to vector control profoundly transformed public health across Africa.
To me, Dr. Chaki was more than a scientist; he was a guide whose humility and intellectual leadership inspired everyone privileged to work with him.
His commitment to mentoring the next generation leaves an indelible mark on our community.
We honor his legacy of excellence and his tireless work toward “An Africa free of vector-borne diseases”.
Rest in peace, Dr. Chaki.
Your influence lives on in our continued mission.
