Condolences to Charlotte and Lucy and family. I knew Andy from many years ago. We worked together at UCLH in London for a few years. We worked in the Private Patients Wing. He was my manager. I remember his humour and willingness to help others, me included. We needed humour as the building we worked in was old, the heating failed and the insurance companies and embassies we had to work with were a challenge. He was always kind and respectful to the patients whose cover/money was running out. We weren’t always the most popular people in the building. He was the only English person I ever met who had a genuine love for the Aussie drink, Bundaberg Rum. It’s an acquired taste. I always found that funny. His tales of backpacking around Australia were much appreciated to me, an Aussie, who on occasion was homesick.
